Local move from Orlando, FL to Gainesville, FL

Stay away from this greedy and lying company!

The only great thing about this company was the movers who came to the house. The guys were absolutely great and worked very hard.

Other than that, I would never recommend this company to anyone. All they care about is to get your money and schedule you, and then they start calling you to ask you to change your moving date, moving times, etc. They gave us all kinds of lies -- from weather, to medical emergency with the drivers, to equipment braking down! The sales guy will bombard you with millions of texts and calls to get your business, and then it all goes down the hill when they schedule more than what they can handle. We wanted to move on a Friday, they were busy. We were pushed to Saturday, and when we finally agreed, the sales guy started calling us and asking us if we could do it on Sunday!! When we declined, the move that was supposed to start at 7AM on Saturday, started at 2:30 pm after numerous calls to the dispatcher asking where the movers were! When the movers arrived to the house, they were unaware where they had to move us!! They thought were moving locally!! This company is just one big JOKE and they are all about GREED! Please stay away from them.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Texas

License to Steal.

This is my experience with EZ MOVING VAN LINES.

[NAME EDIT] lied and misrepresented my contract/estimate and charges. My first binding estimate was $1471 from [NAME EDIT], and to be charged an additional 42 cents for every pound over 2170. During the original quote, I told them that I had a 2 bedroom apartment worth of stuff minus a couch and entertainment center I wasn't taking. From there the only specific question they asked me was how many boxes I would have at which I guessed 62. I came in at 73 boxes and all together had a total of 99 items. They never asked me about bikes, furniture, grill, beds (although I did say that I have a 2 BEDROOM apartment), etc. LESS THAN 24 HOURS before the pickup they called me for a detailed inventory and changed my quote to $3700. In the original binding estiamte, it states that they will be calling me 2-5 days before my pickup date. How is it acceptable that a moving company calls you less than 24 hours from the date of your move and then quotes you more than two and a half times the orginal amount?

I spoke with the head of Quality Assurance there, [NAME EDIT], and he said that there was an algorithm they had to follow per the DOT and assured me that I would only be charged the 42 cents per pound over on top of my original binding estimate of $1471. One example he gave, he said when we enter a queen size bed, the system estimates 700 lbs. I told him my bed doesn't weigh close to 700 lbs. He replied that I am only being charged 42 cents per lb that I use. That was just one example he gave among many in relation to my inventory. So I e-signed the new document for two reasons: I was told that I am being held to my original binding estimate(the only contract I have access to) and this phone call happened less than 24 hours before my move date so I had no other choice.

This is what I was expecting to pay according to my first original binding estimate:
Oringal weight quote was for 2170 lbs
Total weight according to truck weigh-in was 3320 lbs
3320 - 2170 = 1150
1150 * .42 = 483
483 * 1.09 (9% fuel surcharge) = 526
$1471 + $526 = $1997

Now, they are telling me that they are only going to credit me back 21 cents per pound on the weight that they overestimated that I did not need. After I e-signed, my quote and paperwork link was no longer available. I e-mailed and called [NAME EDIT] several times and never heard back. During my last attempt, I spoke with [NAME EDIT] in customer service and asked to be transferred to [NAME EDIT]. After about 10 minutes of holding, [NAME EDIT] came back on the line and said he won't talk to me and that her supervisor said that he is not required to talk to me. [NAME EDIT] offered to have her supervisor [NAME EDIT] call me. I still have yet to hear from [NAME EDIT].

Also, I was never informed of when and where the pre-weight will be held for the truck and I have the right to observe that weigh-in. I was never told when or where this weigh-in would happen nor did I waive my right to be at the weigh-in.

Beware,
Chris.

Long-distance move from Fayetteville, AR to Marietta, GA

Easy.

I got a call from a coordinator. He spent 3 hours on the phone with me to work out a fair quote. They matched another company with a slight discount.
I read their entire contract, which is long. I signed it. The drivers showed up the following week. They did not speak very good English, but they were careful. They let me know that I would be delivered in 7 days. I had to call in to get my weight tickets. I was under the impression they would be sent right away. I was under a lot of stress, so this wasn't the most convenient thing for me. It was sent over within an hour. The lady I spoke to was very helpful. She gave me her line and said she was the supervisor. I didn't have any issues at delivery. Pleased for the most part.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Miami, FL

BEWARE!! This company contracts your move to a third party carrier, w.

I hired EZ Moving Van Lines, Inc for my move from Los Angeles, California to Miami, FL. I had a reasonable quote from Flat Rate Shipping that EZ Moving agreed to match if I contracted with them at that moment. The sales guy reassured me over and over that EZ Moving is a reliable company so I agreed to move forward with EZ Moving.

Other than the carrier arriving a few hours late, there were no major issues with the pick-up. The issues began when I called 1.5 months prior to my delivery date to notify EZ Moving of my first available move in date as well as my address. I decided to make another call 3 weeks prior to my move in date just to confirm my date and address. I’m glad I did because whoever I spoke with 1.5 months prior to my delivery date forgot to document my delivery date and my items were still in storage in California. As a result, my items were in storage longer than necessary and storage fees were incurred, which EZ Moving agreed to reimburse me for. Due to the issues I encountered, I decided to call EZ Moving twice a week to confirm we are on schedule and that my delivery date is June 15 and no earlier since I do not receive my apartment keys until then. I spoke with Casey each time who reassured me she has spoken to the carrier (Leadership Logistics) and relayed my message. Also, that the carrier will be contacting me (never happened).
The REAL issues began 3 days prior to my expected move in date, which was on a Thursday. I received a call from the driver on Monday that my items will be delivered that evening between 6-8pm. Mind you, this is Leadership Logistics, owned and operated by Fernando. I informed the driver that I cannot accept delivery because I do not have access to my apartment NOR am I in town as my first available date wasn’t until Thursday. This turned into a battle between EZ Moving, Leadership Logistics (carrier), and me. So much so that I demanded a three way call to get things figured out. Fernando was persistent in telling me that his team spoke to be the prior week and confirmed my delivery for Monday and that just because I needed it Thursday, they can’t promise that day. Which is fine, but I told Casey over and over that I do not get access to my apartment until Thursday so any time before then, would not be possible. I told Fernando that his team did not call and talk to me to confirm delivery and he continued to argue with me. I offered to pull my phone records. He told me that if I cannot accept delivery, I will incur a $600 redelivery fee. This is when things got heated because it was affecting my work AND I had spent so much time talking to Casey prior to delivery that I expected things to be much smoother.

A couple hours later I received a call from Nobel Van Lines who said they have my stuff and asked when I would like delivery. Mind you this is the THIRD company that I am dealing with when I only contracted with one. However, Nobel Van Lines was EXCEPTIONAL to work with and delivered my items on time and with no issues. They showed up with 3 employees who had all of my stuff moved in within 2 hours. They even put my bed together which wasn’t included in the move. I wish I would have gotten their names because they were courteous, hard-working, and very professional.

The result: EZ and Leadership Moving are unprofessional and create a lot of headache. Noble moving is exceptional and I wish I had contracted directly with them.
- Two of my items were broken
- My items that were supposed to be hung up in garment boxes were in fact not hung up but rather shoved into a box (Leadership Logistics was responsible for this)
- EZ Moving tried to blackmail me to not be able to provide an honest review of my negative experience. They did this by requiring me to sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to get reimbursement for the storage fees incurred on behalf of their error. I responded to the document saying it was unethical and that I will not sign it. After I responded, I did not hear back nor did they charge me for the storage fees at delivery. I think they realize what they’re doing is extremely wrong. I've attached a pdf of the statement which shows that the company did not even mention what the $150 was REALLY for.

Long-distance move from Dewitt, MI to Angola, IN

Stay clear, first class crooks.

I was quoted $5,400 a move of a 100 miles. EZ Moving contracted out to NationStar Movers and the did not wrap and of our furniture. My stuff was held hostage till I paid $12,000 for the move. There was so much damage to our goods it was unbelievable. Glassware was not wrapped and wood furniture was not wrapped. EZ Moving completely washes their hands to entire move once you sign the initial contract. They do not help with claims or assist in any fashion when you try to recoup claim money. Terrible customer service, they should not be allowed to be in business. They are as phony as this website that has everyone giving positive responses. CHECK OTHER websites for the truth. What a terrible nightmare, have to take both too small claims court, and reported both to BBB. I know I will never see a dime but have to try. Wish us luck!!

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Pennsylvania

My tv is broken.

I just used this company for my small apartment move from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. Here's why you avoid these guys and please please hire someone else.1) These are brokers. This means they will hire a moving company of their choosing (aka could be anyone, even if they're terrible) to move all of your stuff. 2) You are not informed of the moving company they hire before your stuff is taken. 3) Basically, almost everything I was told by EZ moving van lines when I booked them was a lie. My stuff arrived almost a month after it was picked up (I was told it would be at most 10 days), and I was also forced to pay almost $500 extra to the actual moving company even though I had less stuff than was in my inventory. Worst of all, all of my stuff was clearly treated terribly during this move. My bookshelf was completely broken in half, a part of my couch was broken, and my nice TV that the movers actually packed themselves now has a lovely crack in it. I'm beyond upset and I've called EZ people twice in the past few days, with little response except sending me to a 3rd party claims site that will clearly take months for anything to resolve. If I had known that they were just going to hire some random crappy moving company that has their own terrible reviews without telling me, I definitely would not have gone with them. I have to assume that the "5-star" reviews you can find for EZ moving are mostly fakes. Please use your money elsewhere! FYI, I have NEVER been emotional enough to write a review of anything before. That's how frustrating this has been.

Long-distance move from New Orleans, LA to New York, NY

EZ Moving Van Line Scam and running a fraud!!

They knew most of the items were damaged and refused open the truck to let me identify my items before I pay cash in full!? The problem is not only money, now most of the furniture articles, artworks and sentimental items are destroyed. They have grossly lied about the weight, additional charges when they unwrapped my items and re-wrapped, intentional parked down a
block and calculated steps in order to charge increase significantly. The worst of all which they knew most of the items were damaged, so they have my items in hostage demands pay cash in full before open the truck !! As the truck opened I was shocked to see the “things” all cramped and stacked on each other like a garbage truck. And the contract listed that service included blanket wrapping of all furniture. But all of the metal furniture articles were not wrapped and they ALL got some degree of damage, dent and bents with scratches. Not to mention a framed art work, all glass shuttered and frames are broken with damaged image!! The sculptured mirror was also broken! All boxes were crushed out of shape (even though marked “Fragile”)! Also, there is missing item which they still haven't responded to my request of the re-delivery date. And no one responded as yet how we start the claim even though I email and tried by phone.
The guy who sign a contract his name Zack Demo, he did not
offer any assistance, he even laugh when I called after the incident!! When they have my things in hostage the driving let me talk to a guy his name Jerry from Georgia who also refused before I paid cash in full. So watch out and I'm sure who left a good reviews was one of them. They don't even own a truck,
neither COT # and will lied about everything to get your money!!

Long-distance move from Boston, MA to Detroit, MI

No move. No Service yet charged.

EZ Moving Van Lines company is the most irresponsible, unprofessional and disrespectful service providers I have ever dealt with. My move was scheduled with them for a window of Aug 14-16th. Yet when I had signed the contract and went over details with the agent, John Stout, I had specially mentioned the urgency to vacate the apartment by the end of the 15th. He assured me that it would be noted as a preferable date due to the move out circumstances. I received a call on the 14th to confirm a pick up on the 16th after noon. When I mentioned the 15th to the agent, she acknowledged that they had missed the little note stating so. She said they would try and accommodate me and will call back. No one got back to me until the next day, and this is after I had called a couple of times. I was promised an update by 1030am. That passed and upon calling, they still assured me that they are "working on it". At the end, they confirmed a pick up on the 16th at 8am. I managed to speak with our property manager and have her understand the situation. She was fine with it as long as I vacated by noon. The next day, no one shows up at 8am. I give them a call around 830 am, the agent states yes they are running a couple of hours late. Mind you no one had even bothered to call and inform me of this. They finally show up between 1245-1pm. The packers/movers themselves were apologetic, polite and very courteous. They asked me if I had a copy of the contract because they seemed to have misplaced mine. I had a copy of it so there was no issue there. He asks if everything needs to be packed, I confirmed yes. He has to speak to his boss (dispatch) and then hands me the phone. The "boss" explains to me that his men have no time to move and pack my small apartment because the contract states only materials for packing. I explained that was not what I had signed up for. I had discussed and signed for a full gloved service with the initial agent. He again states the same thing adding that he didn't want to lose on another two jobs just for this. I asked what is presently to be done, he suggested that making up my things myself. This was stated in the most abrupt and rude manner. He said to take it up with the company I had contracted with. He said time is being wasted and his men need to leave now. He instructed them to leave. Again, they apologized and said there was nothing they can do as they were only following orders. They said this wasn't the first time that something like this had happened. They left. I immediately got on the phone with customer service. The first thing they asked me if I had asked them to leave, I did not. I explained to her why would I do that when I am the one in need of the move. I’m the one that needs the service. She then stated that they may be able to accommodate me on the 17th but then I would have to pay more. That was out of the question as I was moving out of state and my flight was the next afternoon. From there on it was a back and forth between what was actually on the contract, the convenient disappearance of Mr. Stout and dealing with irresponsible employees over all. I had to frantically scramble for immediate arrangements for the packing and moving. I had to pay almost double since it was last minute. I got charged an extra day at the apartment that I was supposed to vacate as the next tenants move in date got pushed back.

The same day I had called later and was told that billing will take care of the refund (since the move didn't happen and the dispatch had asked the movers to leave). Until yesterday, August 28th, which is almost two weeks, no one has had the curtsy of calling me back or following up on the refund. Yesterday they stated that customer service and billing had decided that "I had refused pick up" so they denied the refund. I asked to speak to a superior/supervisor, the agent stated that she was. Ms. Price said that currently there was nothing she could do about it since this is what they put in the system.
How is this possible and who should be responsible? I asked about Mr. Stout again, she said he's currently unavailable and wouldn’t have been of help anyway. I stated that all I wanted is a refund (575.83$ deposit) for a service that wasn't received. She has sent back the request again and will notify me today. I unfortunately have my doubts. If not resolved, I would regretfully have to take up legal action.

Not once was the staff apologetic (except the movers themselves) or even concerned from customer service. They were curt, slightly arrogant at times and dismissive.

Again, the refund is all I’m asking for. I do not and will never want to deal with this company again.

I do recommend people thoroughly researching their moving options (although I did mine) so not to fall into hands of such a company.

Long-distance move from Santa Clarita, CA to Enfield, NH

Ez Move.

I want to start off by saying this experience was a lot better than I thought it would be. I initially talked to a man who sounded like he knew what he was doing. My husband and I sat on the phone with him and wrote down everything we talked about. I wanted to document absolutely everything, just in case. I have read so much on people bad experiences that I refused to let something on my end be the reason why this did not go well. We starting 3 months before our closing date. After speaking to the man on the phone, the first stressful part was over. We made the decision to go with this company. The next stressful part was packing everything up. We were able to do it little by little over the next few months. I recommend this to anyone moving! Pack it yourselves if you have the means to. It saved us a lot of money. Everything was ready to go, all in boxes and I was assured by our packing job that nothing would be destroyed. The movers arrived on the second day in our window. They customer service department did call me and let me know a couple days ahead of time, which was fine. We were flexible on this end. The movers were in and out within a few hours. They were actually quite respectful. My husband bought them lunch, we were very appreciative. We signed some papers with them, we were set on going by weight, but they did give us a volume option as well. They let us know that it would take a little over a week for delivery. This gave us time to say goodbye to our family and not rush on the trip. We had things to put in our car as well. We made it there three days before the movers did. The price did go up for what we owed upon delivery. The estimate was a little bit lower than what the actual final weight was. We added quite a few more last minute, but it was worth the extra money. We did have a little mishap during delivery. One of the movers told us that there was a missing box. All of our boxes hold a lot of importance, as anyone possessions do. So you could imagine how stressful it was hearing this. Luckily, it made its way behind the the furniture, they located it when they started taking out our couches. The reassembly took a little longer than the picking up did. They did a fantastic job of being mindful of our new house and the furniture itself. So ecstatic that everything went well.

Long-distance move from Haverhill, MA to Wilmington, NC

My Move.

I am extremely happy I chose Ez moving to complete my move for me. Everything was smooth from start to finish. The telephone calls and email correspondence prior to the move was timely and clearly laid out and Chris was always available to answer any questions I had about my move. This was my very first time moving across the country, and he explained the entire process to me clearly. The price I was given was low (and honest!) compared to other companies I looked into. On the day of the move, I couldn't take more than a half of a day off from work, so they showed up right at the time we had scheduled. They had all of my belongings packed up and on the truck in 2.5 hours. The movers were exceptionally fast and even helped me rewrap some delicate vases and pictures I didn't pack up properly. These gentlemen knew what they were doing, for sure!
All and all, my move was not too shabby. Since this was mostly stress free, I would recommend this company.
